Direct Support Staff

The main role of a Direct Support Staff is to work towards empowering people living with developmental disabilities to live a meaningful life, while achieving the fullest level of independence at home and in the community.

Key Responsibilities include:

Support the Rivershore Mission, Values, Approach and Quality Principles.

Develop and commit to an annual personal Mission Agreement.

Remain current with all required training.

Know and implement the Individualized Service Plan (ISP) and the Individual Protective Oversight Plan (IPOP) for each person to provide the appropriate level of support.

Participate in the Planning Team to provide input for the ISP and IPOP.

Immediate intervention, support and reporting of any observed or suspected abuse.

Participation in all staff meetings.

Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all services provided.

Coordinate transportation needs.

Assist with medication administration.

Maintain a quality service environment by communicating information, procedures and practices to new staff.

Work with all team members to foster a healthy, proactive, positive environment.

Overnight and evening shifts available. Full training is provided.

High School diploma or GED and clean, valid NYS driver license are required.
