Our Philosophy

At Rivershore, we view each person as the director of their own life. Each individual should be encouraged to choose the direction they wish to take and be supported in reaching their fullest potential.

By supporting a child or young adult to gain life experience and develop their skills, we believe they will develop individualized expectations for their life. They begin to recognize the importance of certain life skills such as taking care of themselves, keeping a clean home, being successful in school, and showing respect for others. As children grow into adults, we focus on preparing them to be the manager of their own life.

We believe every adult should fulfill the daily activities of life including paying their own bills, washing their laundry when they need clean clothes, going grocery shopping, and enjoying mutually satisfying relationships. An adult, with or without disabilities, should be viewed by others as the director of their life. It is our mission to support people who live with developmental disabilities as they pursue and achieve a meaningful life.
